CEV School Project activities continue to grow in Slovenia

Volleyball Federation of Slovenia (OZS) CEV School Project Manager Ana Oblak attended earlier this month a two-day workshop held in Luxembourg (click here for further information), which offered everyone involved in the programme a chance to meet and discuss their work to grow the game at the grassroots level.

With the help of colleagues from so many different countries that presented so many ways of delivering the project, we will be able to implement some fantastic ideas and we are already looking forward to the 2023-2024 school year."
When it comes to actions on the ground, extra-curricular activities will continue indoors in April and the first half of May, and later in May focus will turn to outdoor volleyball practices. “Gamification” material with park volleyball and beach volleyball exercises provided by the CEV will be a great asset for coaches and teachers alike. This was distributed by the Volleyball Federation of Slovenia at the end of March. The feedback was positive, especially as coaches and teachers want to take children out after a long winter.
At the Slovenian Snow Volleyball national championship held on March 19 at the Krvavec ski resort, promotional matches in the U13 category were cancelled due to illness, but with help of six girls – all players from OD Vital Ljubljana, kids who attended the event still got a chance to get familiar with Snow Volleyball. It is planned that as of 2024, Snow Volleyball will become part of the Slovenian Olympic Festival for kids.

2 April - U11 event in Ljubljana (organised by ŽOK Šentvid)
15 April - U13 event in Šempeter (organised by OK Spodnja Savinjska - record number of 84 teams registered)
3 June (reserve date 17 June) – Beach Volleyball festival in Ljubljana
8 July - Beach Volleyball festival in Novo mesto
