CEV EuroBeachVolley 2022
This year’s EuroBeachVolley is truly special – with the top Beach Volleyball players from across the continent enjoying the unique stage provided by a major multi-sport event, whose programme includes athletics, canoe sprint, cycling, gymnastics, rowing, sports climbing, table tennis and triathlon as well.
CEV Managing Director Thorsten Endres emphasised the importance of joining such a multi-sport event and the opportunities Munich 2022 discloses as he addressed a large number of national and international media at a press conference held on Wednesday at the Olympic Park.
“After the challenging times we have all had to navigate, it feels refreshing to see so many people coming together for the opening of the European Championships Munich 2022. It is a real privilege and a valuable learning experience to join forces with colleagues from another eight Federations, the LOC and the European Championships Management in order to deliver an event of such high profile. The circumstances we have had to endure ever since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic have shown that, as the idiom goes, two heads are always better than one. Over the last couple of years, we have shared experiences, learned from one another and we now look forward to delivering a championship that will celebrate our top athletes and inspire fans across Europe and beyond,” Mr Endres said.
Beach Volleyball competition at Munich 2022 will be reaching its climax on Saturday, August 20, and Sunday, August 21, with the women’s and men’s medal matches.
