Jalil Jafarov (AZE)

Mr Jafarov was the founder and President of the women’s Volleyball Club Rabita Baku supported by the Ministry of Communications and IT of the Republic of Azerbaijan since its establishment back in 2005. The team achieved unprecedented success for Azerbaijani Volleyball, securing a FIVB Club World Championship title in 2011, a silver medal from the same competition in 2012 as well as two silver medals from the elite CEV Champions League (in 2011 and 2013).
In 2014, Rabita finished the Champions League in third place when they hosted the Final Four tournament at the iconic Crystal Hall in Baku. No other team from the Caucasus country has been able to achieve such feats to this date. Moreover, between 2006 and 2014, Rabita claimed the Azerbaijani national championship title for a record eight years in a row.
Back in 2020, Mr Jafarov was the first Azerbaijani official to become a member of the CEV Board of Administration and is currently serving his second term in this position.
