Tórshavn, Faroe Islands, February 25, 2020. As always when the Faroese Volleyball Association organises the national cup finals, all of the youth teams with players from the age of 12 are playing as well. In total, as many as 12 youth finals took place on Saturday and Sunday in the North Atlantic archipelago, with CEV President Aleksandar Boričić in attendance as well.
Starting already at 9 am on Saturday morning, the 12-year-old boys were the first ones to take to the court. Throughout the entire Saturday and Sunday, the matches continued with Taraflex flooring, DJ and a crowded hall.
The quality of the performance is rising in all age groups, from the youngest to the oldest ones. More teams are competing in the finals, thus representing clubs from all over the Faroe Islands.
The final match as so many times before was between the U21 boys from SÍ Sørvág and Fleyr Tórshavn. The first set was amazing and finished 33-31 to SÍ, which took the second set as well, thus ending a fantastic weekend where their club claimed half of the youth finals and titles at stake.
