On Saturday, May 9, Volleyball Denmark gathered participants from several sectors of the Danish Volleyball community for a workshop focusing on fan activation and digitalisation. The day was characterised by great commitment, where experiences were shared and new ideas were brought into play. The workshop coincided with Europe Day (annually celebrated on May 9) and was clear proof that sense of community and cooperation continue to be strong within Danish Volleyball.

Through dialogues and presentations, a solid foundation was created for future initiatives that can strengthen both the visibility and the experience of the sport. Volleyball contains strong values and communities, which even more people should have the opportunity to become a part of as per the strategy that Volleyball Denmark is producing. The meetings held in Odense bode well for the future – and for the continued work to develop and strengthen Volleyball across Denmark.

Europe Day celebrated in Iceland as well

The organisers of a tournament held in Húsavík, Iceland, did also seize the opportunity to celebrate Europe Day on May 9. Ten clubs, thereby accounting for some 105 players, travelled to Húsavík to enjoy a tournament full of matches and a great atmosphere. All participating clubs shared photos on their social media channels using the hashtag #volleyballforeurope. The tournament was also part of the activities run by the Icelandic Volleyball Federation (BLI) within the scope of the CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’.
