The 2022 edition of the Armenian women’s national championship, which has been renamed Pro League since this year, finished on December 4. A total of four teams enjoyed the opportunity to contest this competition, which started in April, continued in October, and reached its climax with the final matches at the beginning of December.
The teams were very well prepared, and from the 2nd round of the championship, the Volleyball Federation of Armenia was able to provide live streaming of all matches through their official YouTube channel.
Teams Van, BSU, and Artsakh were the main contenders for the title, whereas Geghashen, consisting mainly of young players, showed a decent game as well. Team Van did not lose any game during the three rounds and deservedly became the champions of the women’s league, with BSU and Artsakh finishing in second and third place, respectively.
The top three teams of the championship received medals, cups, and the six most outstanding players of the competition were awarded with special prizes by representatives of the Volleyball Federation of Armenia. The Volleyball Federation of Armenia provided special equipment to the Artsakh team to make up for what has gone lost in their war-torn region.
The Secretary General of the Volleyball Federation of Armenia, Mr Karen Asmaryan, presented new projects for the 2023 Pro League, which will feature more teams and whose matches will be held in additional cities as well.
