Successful 8th Open U11 Mini Volleyball Championship held in Šempeter

On Saturday, January 11, the Volleyball Club SIP Šempeter hosted the 8th Open Mini Volleyball Championship in the U11 category for girls and boys born in 2015 or later. Matches were played across as many as fourteen courts in Šempeter, Prebold, and Braslovče, with a total of 56 teams from Slovenia and Croatia taking part. More than 550 young players were actively involved in the event.

In the girls’ competition, which featured 22 teams, OTP banka Branik Maribor claimed first place, followed by Calcit I Kamnik in second and Triglav Kranj in third. The home team, SIP Šempeter, finished in fourth place.

The boys’ tournament included 10 teams, with Šoštanj Topolšica emerging as the winners. Calcit I Kamnik secured second place, while OK i-Vent Maribor finished third. SIP Šempeter placed fourth in the boys’ competition as well.

As in previous seasons, the organisers also provided competition opportunities for beginners. In this category, 24 teams competed, with KLS Ljubno taking first place, KEKOOpremа Žužemberk (girls) finishing second, and Prevalje II placing third.

All matches were played in a strong spirit of fair play, which was one of the main goals of the tournament. The event featured a high level of mini volleyball, accompanied by enthusiastic support from parents and friends of all the participating teams.
