Warsaw, Poland, May 14, 2020. Even though there are no Volleyball matches taking place these days and it remains difficult for teams to train, the Polish Volleyball Federation (PVF) has not gone into hibernation and has been with the sport’s fans since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis via its media channels. Volleyball lovers in Poland have had and still have plenty of content to choose from as you can see below.

#CzasyChwały (‘TimesOfGlory’)
The first of numerous cycles, initiated by the Polish Volleyball Federation in this new reality, is a series of articles about all medal achievements of Polish women’s and men’s national Volleyball teams. From March 23, every day the official website www.pzps.pl features a piece about a medal claimed by the White-and-Reds – it is a piece of beautiful history that is worth knowing and remembering. New articles (in Polish) appear at 11:00 am - seven days a week and will now switch their attention to Beach Volleyball.

Training Vids for Kids

For all the youngest Volleyball players, stuck at home with the lockdown, the PVF came up with a series of short training sessions with two-time European champion Dorota Świeniewicz. The videos  were published three times a week on the federation’s Facebook fan page and later they made their way to the PVF’s Facebook channel as well. Now that the restrictions got somewhat relaxed, the series is back – two times a week, with the surroundings changed to the longed-for outdoors.

#SiatkarskaŚroda (‘VolleyballWensday’)
Once a week, on Facebook and YouTube, the PVF has an online training session run by someone from the national teams. With the recent re-opening of parks and forests in Poland, beach volleyballers have joined in to show exercises not only at home, but also outdoors. The biggest hit so far was the episode with the coach of the reigning world champions, Vital Heynen. See for yourself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHFyx16Kdmg

#zSiatkiDoSieci (‘NetToWeb’)

This one is a series of interviews with famous figures of the Volleyball world. Until now, the interlocutors were Polish and foreign Volleyball coaches, speaking from their perspective about the new situation in the world of sports, but not just that - the scope of topics goes beyond the basic set of #StayHome related questions. Laurent Tillie, Vladimir Alekno, Giovanni Guidetti and Tuomas Sammelvuo are among those interviewed so far. Videos are published on Sundays and Thursdays on pzps.pl and its YouTube channel.

#MotywacjaMarcina & #StrategiaSukcesuMarcina (‘Marcin’s Motivation’ ‘Marcin’s Strategy for Success’)
Marcin Prus – a multiple champion of Poland, national team player, Volleyball personality and author – has now started a second series of motivational videos aimed mostly at youth but not exclusive to young Volleyball players. While there is some tongue-in-cheek in many of these short videos, the topics covered are quite serious, ranging from determination and self-discipline to love and family.

This is not the last word said by the PVF, new social media challenges and formulas are being planned for fans and players, with new things to do but also great memories to re-live – together, like a family should.
