Newly crowned World Champions hosted by President of Serbia

Mr Aleksandar Vučić, the President of the Republic of Serbia, hosted earlier this week a reception for the Serbian women’s national team, recently crowned back-to-back World Champions.

Mr Vanja Udovicic, Minister of Youth and Sports in the Serbian Government, Mr Bozidar Maljković, President of the National Olympic Committee of Serbia, Mr Zoran Gajić, President of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia, Mr Ivan Knežević, Secretary General of the Volleyball federation of Serbia, Mr Gyula Mester, First Vice-President of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia, and Mr Petar Bogunović, Vice-President of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia, attended the event as well.

Tijana Bošković, team captain and the opposite hitter of the women’s national team of Serbia, and the Most Valuable Player of the last two FIVB World Championships, handed over to Mr Vučić a national team jersey featuring the signatures of all the players and members of the coaching staff.

Last Saturday, October 15, Serbia beat Brazil 3-0 in the gold medal match of the FIVB Women’s World Championship in Apeldoorn (NED) to claim their second straight global crown.
