KHMOMM and Sisian crowned Armenia’s U14 national champions

In a very busy time for the local Volleyball family, the Volleyball Federation of Armenia (VFA) did run from June 1 to 4 the 2023 edition of their national championships for U14 boys and girls, with the event delivered at the gymnasium of the Sevan sports company in the city of Ashtarak.

As many as 13 and nine teams contested the boys’ and girls’ competition respectively, with the four-day tournament starting with a pool stage followed by the semis and final matches. On June 1, the opening ceremony was held as well, which was attended by high-profile authorities of the Aragatsotn regional administration and the VFA. Next to the actual championship, the VFA did also organise a seminar for physical education teachers and coaches from schools across the region in conjunction with the CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’ (click here for further information).

Team KHMOMM secured the title in the girls’ competition, with Team Ashtarak and HMMK finishing in second and third place, respectively. In the boys’ competition, the young players of Team Sisian were crowned U14 national champions, with Arabkir and Nor-Nork completing the podium. The members of the top three teams were all awarded by the Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Armenia and VFA with certificates of honour, medals, cups, and the best individual athletes received special prizes too.
