KhMOMM and HMMD win U17 national titles in Armenia

From March 29 to April 2, 2023, the Armenian national championships for U17 boys and girls were held at the sports school of Yeghvard, with participation of 14 and 10 teams, respectively.

HMMD won the U17 girls' title this past weekend in Yeghvard

The youngsters first competed in a pool stage for four days in a row followed by the final and classification matches contested on Sunday, April 2. The teams representing Geghashen and Ashtarak played for the bronze medals in the girls’ competition, with Geghashen securing a 2-0 victory. Teams HMMD and Avan contested the match for the first place. The game turned out to be a very tense affair and worthy of a final match, with HMMD claiming top honours after storming to a 2-0 victory.

As many as 24 teams contested the U17 national championships across the two genders

The players competing for HMMD and Goght made it to the bronze medal match of the boys’ competition, with Goght recording a 2-1 victory. Teams KhMOMM and Nor-Nork competed for the first place, and after another very close and hard-fought game, KhMOMM emerged victorious in straight sets.

The top three teams were all awarded with medals and trophies. The Director of the Yeghavardi Municipal Sports Academy, the Head of the Culture and Sports Department of the Kotayk regional governorate and a number of sports school employees were also awarded by the Volleyball Federation of Armenia (VFA). Sports equipment was provided to Yeghvard sports school by the VFA to aid with the delivery of further Volleyball activities.
