Iconic boulevard renamed after Turkish Volleyball Federation President

The President of the Turkish Volleyball Federation (TVF), Mr Mehmet Akif Üstündağ has enjoyed a truly great and special honour in his hometown Malatya. Malatya Metropolitan Municipality recently decided to rename an important boulevard of the city after the TVF President. 

The boulevard, formerly known as Kızılırmak Street, which is where the family home of Mr Üstündağ lies, is now named after the TVF President. Türkiye’s Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak and the Malatya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Selahattin Gürkan were among the high-profile attendees at the ceremony whereby the street was renamed. The TVF President expressed his satisfaction and was obviously elated that his name will be kept alive in one of the most iconic areas of his hometown and thanked all the city councillors for endorsing this decision. Üstündağ also emphasised that he will continue his work to further grow Turkish Volleyball, while supporting sports and young people with full commitment and dedication.
