Belfast, Northern Ireland, April 3, 2019. Grosvenor Belfast women’s volleyball club, The Fireblades (pictured) defended their Northern Ireland national championship title by completing the 2018/2019 season undefeated with an immaculate record of 13 wins and no losses. However, it was no walkover as it may look like, as they played the most five-setters of all the women’s teams competing in the league.

The men’s Northern Irish national championship saw the Craigavon Aztecs, the oldest adult Volleyball club in the Province - take the title for the first time in decades, doing so on an 11-1 win-loss record ahead of Ballymoney.

The national leagues have now ended and the finals in the national cup are coming up shortly followed by the traditional NIVA Cup end-of-season Blitz tournament to close April.
