Belgrade, Serbia, April 16, 2020. The Volleyball Federation of Serbia (VFS), in cooperation with the Association of Volleyball Coaches of Serbia (UOTS), is delivering this week a series of online lectures for coaches and statisticians from teams competing in the Banka Poštanska Štedionica Superleague. With this initiative, the VFS and UOTS wish to optimise the opportunities available during the state of emergency declared in Serbia due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Slobodan Kovac (pictured above), head coach of the men’s senior national team, gold medal winners at EuroVolley 2019, and the recipient of the 2019 CEV Men’s Team Coach of the Year award, delivered the first such lecture on Wednesday evening focussing on “Analytical processing and statistical analysis of the opponent’s setter”. As many as 90 coaches followed the session, which lasted for two and a half hours, with some 40 questions asked by the ‘virtual attendees’.

Zoran Terzic, head coach of the women’s national team, the reigning world champions and two-time European champions, will deliver the next lecture on Friday afternoon, discussing “The block and the break phase”. Terzic received the award for the CEV Women’s Team Coach of the Year in 2018, among a number of other accolades on his resume.

Milan Simojlovic, scout of the men’s national team, will follow next on Saturday to cover the topic “General statistics at the end of the season, and setting the parameters for the upcoming season and assistance in training after the season is over”.

Due to the great interest and limited number of people allowed to attend the online courses, the Volleyball Federation of Serbia will publish all three lectures on their official YouTube channel over the course of next week for the benefits of all those associated with the sport.
