Camp for promising players and coaches held in Albania with support from Italian Federation

The Albanian Volleyball Federation (FSHV) and Italian Volleyball Federation (FIPAV) signed earlier this week a cooperation agreement, with FSHV President Erlind Pëllumbi expressing his gratitude to Italian counterpart Giuseppe Manfredi for the exchange and support that is due to be provided to Albania’s Volleyball family throughout the year 2024.

Mr Pëllumbi stressed he is confident that the months ahead will be filled with many productive actions, with Mr Manfredi, on the other hand, renewing his wish for a continuing cooperation that is likely to benefit the further development of Albanian Volleyball. Mr Manfredi commended the FSHV leadership for choosing to focus their work on young boys and girls, who represent the future of the local Volleyball family. The signing ceremony ended with Mr Manfredi presenting Mr Pëllumbi with a customised jersey of the Italian national team, the current world champions as well as the reigning European vice-champions.  

The cooperation agreement materialised almost instantly with a three-day camp organised this week for members of Albania’s U20 men’s and women’s national teams, working under the knowledgeable guidance of highly qualified Italian coaches. The camp did not only involve the most promising players across the Albanian Volleyball community but represented an opportunity to introduce local coaches to the coaching methods and philosophy of those responsible for the highly successful youth and junior programmes run by the Italian Volleyball Federation. 

The FSHV is especially grateful to the Italian Volleyball Federation for their continuous support to the development and further growth of Volleyball in Albania.
