News
As they continue to expand the reach of the CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’ across their home country, representatives of the Volleyball Federation of Armenia (VFA) recently visited the Yerevan Secondary School No. 1, which is named after Stepan Shahumyan. Yerevan’s Stepan Shahumyan School No. 1 was built in 1928 and has nurtured many talented children, who have represented Armenia with much success in areas as diverse as sports, culture, and science.

The students had prepared a surprise and a real treat for the VFA delegation, as they shared a presentation reviewing the history and development of Volleyball in the world and more specifically in Armenia as well. During the Soviet era, the school’s volleyball team had performed at school championships open to such institutions from Yerevan and from across the country (at that time known as ArSSR) as well.
During the volleyball lesson, the pupils worked hard to learn some key technical skills and got acquainted with the rules of the game as well.
After the lesson, the Volleyball Federation of Armenia distributed volleyballs so that such activities can gain momentum and continue in the weeks and months to come.
