As in many other countries, the CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’ is helping inspire the next generation of Volleyball players in North Macedonia as well.

On November 4, VC Borec from the city of Veles organised a volleyball class at the Vasil Glavinov elementary school. The class was attended by more than 50 children, who were taught how to pass the ball with their fingers and forearms, while joining other drills to improve their motor skills and orientation in space.

VC Forza Volley Ema hosted a mini-volleyball tournament in the Forza sports centre, where children had the opportunity to get to know the Volleyball rules as well as the main features of the sport, including the taste of victory and defeat.

Later in the month, VC Bami Kor from Tetovo delivered another similar activity at Goce Delchev primary school, where the teacher and the coach together worked with two groups of children, one consisting of pupils aged 6-8, including about 30 children (mostly girls), and a second group of 9 to 11-year-olds, comprising about 40 children. The kids had the opportunity to play the ball over the net and test their ability of passing and receiving, with the older group working according to the ‘real’ Volleyball format 6x6.
