The Albanian Volleyball Federation (FSHV) has joined activities run by the Ministry of State for Youth and Children as well as by the National Olympic Committee as they continue to expand the scope of the CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’ across the Balkan country.

Even the country’s Prime Minister, Mr Edi Rama, joined in the celebrations organised following the rebuilding of a village called Thumanë, which was severely damaged by the earthquake that struck Albania in late November of 2019, and which now features new blocks of apartments and many areas dedicated to sports activities as well.

Since this was a major event involving a large number of people, the FSHV decided to join by delivering a volleyball exhibition and a friendly tournament involving four school teams of boys and girls from the area, thus accounting for approximately 90 children and six coaches.

Many kids and locals stopped by the FSHV tent asking for the balls which were exposed at the very front. To everyone who stopped by, the FSHV distributed also books about the history of Volleyball in Albania, all for free, which kids and family members enjoyed very much.

Before the start of the actual school competition, many grownups interested to join in had come together and therefore an additional match for adults was organised as well.
