Any coaches and physical education teachers working at the grassroots level of the Volleyball game should not miss the opportunity offered by another webinar run by the CEV Technical and Development Department in conjunction with the School Project, which is coming up this Thursday, March 10, at 4 pm CET.

Stephen McKeown, Course Director at Leeds Beckett University and involved with the iCoachKids movement, with whom the CEV signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2021, will be hosting a session whose primary goal is to help coaches align their training plans and competitions with children’s biological and training ages – rather than their chronological age.

McKeown and his colleague Craig Handford will explore practical ways to apply a long-term player development model to training plans.

“Something that Craig and I would like to get in to is the difference between chronological, biological and training age, and how we need to align our coaching and competition more closely to biological and training age as opposed to a player’s chronological age. We would also like to spend a bit of time stressing the importance of psychosocial and emotional development and how this can be facilitated through the sport of Volleyball."
