As many as 230 coaches and physical education teachers from across Albania attended the second CEV School Project national workshop held earlier this week in the capital city of the Balkan country, Tirana, under the guidance and supervision of CEV Instructor Kristof De Loose of Belgium. A previous such workshop was already run earlier this year. The Albanian Volleyball Federation did join the CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’ in December of 2019 and in the last school year alone they managed to involve some 4,700 children and 157 primary schools in their efforts to grow the game at the grassroots level.
Erlind Pëllumbi“We would like to thank the CEV for supporting small federations such as Albania, and for giving us opportunities to develop Volleyball at the grassroots level, which is vital for the future growth of our sport. This continuous support helps us grow and reach the key target groups when talking about development: coaches, teachers, and kids."

The workshop was held at the Feti Borova sports hall in Tirana, with both theoretical and practical classes delivered by De Loose with a focus on motivational teaching of movement skills, fun-filled drills to learn Volleyball techniques and tactics and creative games to help improve the knowledge, understanding, and mastery of the key Volleyball skills by young pupils.
“After a previous national workshop delivered in March, I am pleased that we were invited again for a second such action. It is good to see that there were so many coaches present at both workshops. This allows us to address and emphasise certain topics again while going into detail when it comes to other subjects. I am also very satisfied with the practical sessions involving many young boys and girls,” said speaker and instructor Kristof De Loose.
All coaches showed much interest in the sessions run by De Loose and they all received a certificate of attendance at the end of the workshop, whose opening was attended also by the President of the Albanian National Olympic Committee, Mr Fidel Ylli.
