Scottish Volleyball has proudly reported that after the deadline to register for this year’s indoor Schools Cup passed, they have recorded a vast increase in uptake from the previous indoor season. This year sees 32 teams and 18 schools taking part in the competition, thereby accounting for a remarkable increase from seven schools and 10 teams the previous year. Aimed at pupils from the fifth and sixth grades, the competition sees three rounds before the final two teams get to play at the yearly Scottish Volleyball Finals weekend in late April.

Scottish Volleyball Regional Development Officers have still been out and about despite the chilly weather and the holiday season. Blair Pettigrew has worked with schools in Glasgow, and Glasgow Life, running more Young Ambassador courses. Similarly, Veronica Rusich has been travelling up to Perth to deliver a course there.

Looking ahead, Scottish Volleyball has big plans for pupils from the first and second grades and the organisation is also looking forward to delivering more ambassador courses to enthusiastic youngsters around the country.
