Who would believe that February is over already? It has been a quiet month for Scottish Volleyball in regard to the CEV School Project activities, although lots of planning has happened behind the scenes.

Regional Development Officers have been delivering Young Leader courses in various high schools in both sides of Scotland. These pupils then go on to work with the local primary schools in the area to introduce and teach Volleyball to their peers. This method works well in Scotland, as it ensures sustainable development in various council areas.

Scottish Volleyball opened entries to this year’s Schools Scottish Cup competition, which sees the return of school volleyball to the yearly Cup Finals Weekend. While the event is open only to 5th or 6th year pupils this year, the organisers are hopeful that this will provide schools involved in the CEV project an avenue for performance in the future. Cup Finals is arguably one of Scottish Volleyball’s biggest weekends of the year, and so everyone is excited to be bringing back schools’ Volleyball to this event!

Scottish Volleyball also signed a partnership agreement with the Polish Volleyball Federation (click here for further info). The culmination of lots of hard work, this partnership, while not directly impacting the CEV School Project in Scotland, will see developments and professional experience shared with Scottish coaches and staff. This will ultimately help to develop Volleyball in Scotland in all areas, and everyone at Scottish Volleyball is looking forward to learning from Poland in the coming months.
