School Volleyball activities resume in Azerbaijan with highly successful youth camps
News
The school year started in Azerbaijan with an ambitious plan of activities designed by the Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation (AVF) to involve and inspire an ever-growing number of children to play the game in the ‘Land of Fire’.

A camp run at the very premises of the Socio-Economic College in Baku lasted for as many as 14 days – with a first group joining from August 21-28 and a subsequent cohort of children involved from September 4-8 under the guidance of two qualified Volleyball coaches and another two PE teachers.
Apart from playing Volleyball, the children did also compete with themselves, since their physical performances were tested as well. The first camp involved as many as 40 girls and in the end, some 28 were selected for future activities. Another 25 girls joined the second camp, with 18 retained to join club activities in Baku.

All children will contest an age-group tournament that is going to start in the middle of October, right after the elite Azerbaijani Super League gets underway. As many as 20 teams have already registered for participation in this youth competition. As it happened with the previous school year, the Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation will deliver matches in the U14, U16, and U18 age groups as well as a festival for U12 players – the latter scheduled for June of 2026.
