School tournament organised in Azerbaijan

This past May 16 the Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation (AVF) organised a large-scale tournament dedicated to the 100th anniversary since the birth of the country’s founding father, Mr Heydar Aliyev. The event was run in cooperation with the Zirve International School and the Development Centre owned and managed by the AVF in conjunction with the CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’.

More than 600 kids attend this school where there is a big campus including some outdoors courts used for Volleyball and other sports and a very well-equipped indoor sports hall. After the opening ceremony, six teams comprising of players aged 12 to 14 played four matches. The AVF delegation had a meeting with the principal of the school, who expressed their wish for future cooperation and said that they are ready to allow the use of their sport facilities for the delivery of volleyball events and training sessions. A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Zirve International School and the Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation.
