School Project webinars to continue with sessions on volunteer management and safeguarding

The 11th series of webinars organised by the CEV Technical and Development Department in conjunction with the CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’ will continue later this week (Friday, December 13) with a double session focussing on volunteer management and safeguarding. Elena Mujoska’s presentation on the new CEV Children Safeguarding Guidelines will revolve around promoting child safety and preventing violence in sport, with a particular focus on Volleyball. She will highlight the guideline’s key principles, including child well-being, respect for children’s rights, and the creation of safe environments. The presentation will emphasise the vital role of coaches as both protectors and role models, as well as the importance of recognising abuse and intervening timely and appropriately. Mujoska will foster a conversation on building a culture of non-violence in Volleyball through training, education, and collaborative efforts among coaches, parents, and other community stakeholders alike.
Nada Rochevska’s presentation, ‘Empowering Volleyball - Effective Volunteer Management Strategies for Lasting Impact in Clubs & Beyond’, highlights the vital role of volunteers in sustaining grassroots sports clubs. It outlines the volunteer lifecycle, including recruitment, training, retention, and recognition, while addressing current challenges and proposing practical solutions. The presentation emphasises the importance of supporting volunteers through proper training, mentorship, and recognition to foster loyalty and engagement. It also underscores the emotional and lasting impact of volunteerism in sport.
