With children returning to school earlier this month, it is also high time to resume activities run in conjunction with the CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’. This applies to Croatian schools and pupils as well – with the Croatian Volleyball Federation having appointed, next to a Project Manager, Mr Željko Nojić, as many as six Regional Coordinators in charge of promoting Volleyball at school.

A Volleyball masterclass took place earlier this month at the Ivan Filipović elementary school – where the local teacher deserved an especially warm welcome to the instructors as she has a family connection with the Volleyball game. Such an action did run at two schools in the month of September and there are plans to visit as many as 30 schools throughout October and November.

In order to make sure that Volleyball activities continue on a regular basis, the Regional Coordinators are due to visit all these schools at least once a month until the end of the school year. This way, and through the distribution of volleyballs and nets, the Croatian Volleyball Federation is hoping to lay the foundations that will help grow the next generation of Volleyball players and make sure that pupils, teachers and clubs stay connected.
