School Project now supported by general sponsor VBO (Premium Toothbrush) in Slovenia

Since 2018, the Volleyball Federation of Slovenia (OZS) has been implementing the CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’, which is run under the umbrella of the CEV and already involves as many as 27 countries across Europe. The project, whereby the OZS wishes to pursue the further development and promotion of Volleyball among children, now has a general sponsor by its side, the company VBO (Premium Toothbrush).

In Slovenia, as many as 46 clubs have so far responded to the invitation to participate in the project, and together with the Volleyball Federation of Slovenia, they have distributed volleyballs, nets, and net bands to more than 150 primary schools all over the country. The project also includes promotional events, tournaments, and festivals for children, while Slovenian Volleyball coaches have had the opportunity to gain additional knowledge by attending the annual CEV Coaches Convention, as well as through online lectures and educational materials provided by the CEV and renowned Volleyball experts from all over the world.

The project is of growing importance for the development of Slovenian Volleyball, and VBO (Premium Toothbrush) has recognised its value and decided to support it by signing a general sponsorship agreement. Therefore, the OZS will from now on run the project under a new name, VBO (Premium Toothbrush) CEV School Volleyball, and the slogans ‘Play Volleyball - Grow with it’ and ‘Rasti z odbojko in popolnim nasmehom’, which stands for ‘Grow with Volleyball and a perfect smile’. 

The joint objectives of the OZS and VBO (Premium Toothbrush) are: 

•    To involve 10 to 15 new primary schools in the project each year
•    To involve three new clubs in the project each year
•    To organise at least two mass-participation indoor events per year together with the clubs 
•    To organise at least two grassroots Volleyball events per year together with the clubs
•    To encourage Slovenian Volleyball coaches to further educate themselves 
•    To invite Slovenian national team players to be ambassadors of the project.
