Earlier this week, the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro (OSCG) introduced Volleyball at a major event run in conjunction with the European Week of Sport and organised by the Ministry of Sports at the Sports Centre Morača in Podgorica.
The OSCG used this opportunity to promote the CEV School Project, and more specifically their ‘Free Volleyball School’ and ‘EKO Mini Volleyball’ programmes.
‘Free Volleyball School’ activities will resume later this month in elementary schools in the north of Montenegro, whereas the EKO Mini Volleyball League is due to re-start on October 30.
At the event, the organisers distributed volleyball props and T-shirts to the visitors, and the youngest fans could learn more about the sport and some technical tricks from national team members Luka Babić and Bojan Strugar. The youngest players of Budućnost Volley, Morača and Akademija played an exhibition game, with a contest organised for the visitors, who could return home with some special prizes and souvenirs.
The Ministry of Sports and Youth delivered this multi-sport entertainment event known as the ‘Be Active Village’ to mark the European Week of Sport, an initiative promoted by the European Commission. The event gathered around 2,000 visitors, including famous former and still active professional athletes.
The Montenegrin Olympic Committee, the Montenegrin Paralympic Committee and as many as 25 national sports associations presented their work at the stands, thus reaching out to visitors so that they will be willing to join recreational activities in the near future. Overall, the organisers of the event distributed more than 1,000 pieces of commemorative gifts.
