School Project activities promote fair play and well-being in Denmark
News
Volleyball Denmark organised earlier this month a couple of activities in conjunction with the CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’.
Their representatives joined the PE teachers’ forum held in the city of Ringsted by running two workshops with a focus on KidsVolley, fair play and well-being. The session defined how, through competition and games, PE teachers can promote values such as fair play and well-being during their classes. Volleyball Denmark emphasised that in any physical education activity and class, students shall act in accordance with fair play, develop their knowledge of fair play, discuss what it feels to win and lose – and understand the sort of reactions that emerge after experiencing victories and setbacks.
Apart from this workshop, Fortuna Volleyball Club invited school pupils to a tournament. After the visit, seven new players joined the club. The club is currently establishing a new KidsVolley team, and therefore the contact with the schools is extremely important. The new Mikasa balls provided by the CEV through Volleyball Denmark sparked much joy at the school, and Fortuna are obviously happy to be able to offer this extra asset when they collaborate with local schools.
