Earlier this month, the Icelandic Volleyball Association (BLI) resumed their CEV School Project activities by hosting a School Volleyball event in the town of Ísafjördur, on the west fjords, with a good participation of five schools from Ísafjördur and the nearby towns of Bolungarvík, Suðureyri, Þingeyri, and Flateyri. This way, the organisers reached a total of 160 kids – 41, 57, and 62 from grades 4, 5, and 6, respectively.
The second School Project event of the month took place on December 5 in Grundarfjördur, on the Snaefellsnes peninsula. It was the first time the Icelandic Volleyball Association hosted such an event in this area. This is a relatively isolated part of the country with a small population, but despite these apparent constraints, the BLI managed to involve 41 children from grades 4 to 6.
The Icelandic Volleyball Association have some more activities planned before the end of the year, such as a Christmas kids' tournaments and a referee course.
