School Project activities continue in full swing in Slovenia

CEV School Project activities have been running smoothly throughout December in Slovenia and ended with many friendly St. Nicholas or Christmas tournaments. Kids had a lot of fun choosing their own teammates. They were especially creative when picking names for their teams. Besides volleyball skills, children presented their bakery knowledge as well to treat their teammates with cookies and sweets that they had prepared themselves. Even Secret Santa decided to join in and surprised the kids with small gifts. It was a great way to finish an exciting year.

This past month, the Volleyball Federation of Slovenia (OZS) was pleased to announce Maša Pucelj as the new ambassador of the VBO Premium toothbrush CEV School Project (click here). The young athlete, recently voted the best Slovenian female volleyball player in 2023, joined the prominent Slovenian national team member Rok Možič and is now following in his footsteps in raising the profile of Volleyball among children in Slovenia.
 
Another milestone for the CEV School Project in Slovenia was building the dedicated website igramodbojko.si, which will be available in the first days of January. The page will be a great asset to further promote the project.

On Sunday, December 10, at the Draš Sports Centre, almost 400 kids participated in the OTP Volleyball mini volleyball tournament for girls and boys under 11 years of age. The youngest Slovenian players gained their first competitive experience and truly enjoyed their time in Maribor. The event was organized by OK Nova KBM Branik with the support of the Volleyball Federation of Slovenia and the general sponsor VBO Premium Toothbrush.
 
In December, the Federation and OK SIP Šempeter decided to cooperate as partners for the U13 tournament that will take place on April 20, 2024, in the Savinjska region. More than 800 girls and boys from Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, and Austria are expected to attend the event.
