Saskia van Hintum at the 2025 CEV Coaches Convention: Championing Authentic Coaching and Lifelong Learning
For the first time, Saskia van Hintum will take the stage at the 2025 CEV Coaches Convention (Zadar, Croatia, September 26-28), bringing with her more than four decades of elite-level volleyball experience - 17 years as a professional player and 22 as a full-time coach across both indoor and beach disciplines.
Van Hintum says she accepted the invitation to speak because she values connecting with passionate colleagues and sees this as an opportunity to share the wide-ranging expertise she has gained coaching and playing in multiple countries and roles. Just as importantly, she wants to serve as a role model for female coaches, proving that authenticity and excellence are not only compatible but essential for success at the highest level.
Her session will focus on the art of setting and the evolution of training delivery over the years. Attendees can expect a dialogue-based format, drawing from her personal journey and practical insights into how coaches' expectations and athletes’ needs have shifted.

Van Hintum has also been closely involved with youth development, most recently serving as assistant coach for Germany at the Girls’ U19 World Championship. One insight she plans to emphasise at the Convention is the urgent need for early physical education.
