This year, students in both Primary and Middle Secondary schools had the opportunity to be introduced to Volleyball during sessions held at their school, during clinics, or during festivals or tournaments.
Students as young as 8-year-olds, had the chance to become aware of the game and start practicing Volleyball. Sessions were held over a period of weeks for a progression from 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 in the older age groups. The game was adapted according to the age groups with different rules to follow to end up with a flowing game.

Fun and high participation characterised all sessions run by the MVA and through the adapted games the kids were always active throughout.
To help the schools and their respective Physical Education teachers, the Malta Volleyball Association continued to deliver equipment through the CEV School Project. Volleyballs and bands were distributed to schools who welcomed MVA representatives in their school premises for several weeks or who attended MVA interschool events.

Through the promotion of the game by the CEV School Project and the local clubs, the number of players under the age of fourteen has increased over the last twelve months. Higher interest from students in their first years of their secondary school helped to lower the age of the players’ intake in Maltese clubs. The MVA’s aim is to increase the number of Primary school children to start practicing Volleyball at a younger age both in schools and in local clubs.
