Talented Slovenian Volleyball player and national team member Maša Pucelj has become an ambassador of the VBO Premium toothbrush CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’ and will join rising star Rok Možič in promoting and raising the profile of Volleyball among children in Slovenia.

Since 2018, the Volleyball Federation of Slovenia (OZS) has been implementing the project, which has been joined by some 150 primary schools through 46 Volleyball clubs. This past October, the OZS announced their partnership with VBO Premium Toothbrush as their general sponsor for the project, and soon after it got its first ambassador, the prominent Slovenian national team member and rising international star Rok Možič. Maša Pucelj has now followed in his footsteps.

“I love children very much and feel very comfortable around them. When time permits, I am happy to join them to play Volleyball and sometimes give them some useful advice from the sidelines. I am happy that we have such a project in Slovenian Volleyball because I would like to see as many children as possible playing the game. It is a nice sport and I hope that Rok and I will inspire as many girls and boys as possible to go for it."

Born in 2006 in Novo mesto, Maša comes from Žužemberk, where she took her first Volleyball steps at the local club under the watchful eye of her father Rok, himself a former Volleyball player. She played her first matches in the U11 and U13 categories. In the 2019/2020 season, the only 16-year-old (at the time) Maša already got a taste of the first league with ATK Grosuplje, and she played for Slovenia’s U17 national team as well.

The summer of 2022 was a new turning point for the young athlete as she was selected to join the ranks of the senior national team for the first time. In the 2022/2023 season, she donned the jersey of the current national champion Calcit KAMNIK for the first time, and she is now one of its leading players, delivering excellent performances in the national championship as well as in the elite CEV Champions League Volley. In 2023, Maša made her first appearance at EuroVolley and she played in the qualifiers for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games as well.
