Before the Luxembourg Volleyball Federation (FLVB) started visiting schools involved in the ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’ programme in early November, the FLVB organised with the help of IFEN - Luxembourg Institute of National Education - a course for primary and middle school teachers. This took place in mid-October with participation of 16 teachers. Out of these 16 teachers and through some other contacts, the FLVB now has a list of 12 schools from across the Grand Duchy interested in joining the project.

Three of the FLVB national team coaches are actively involved in the project. The school visits started in Esch-sur-Alzette, the Grand Duchy’s second largest city, and in Ettelbruck – which lies in the northern section of the country. The FLVB ran five classes in Esch and another four in Ettelbruck, thus involving some 145 children in School Project activities this far. These two schools will continue with the delivery of Volleyball practices until the end of December. In January, the FLVB will be paying a visit to two schools in Luxembourg City.

A major event with all involved schools is due to take place in 2023. So far, the feedback is very positive from the teachers and the FLVB is looking forward to engaging even more kids in the CEV School Project!
