Kosovo Federation runs successful school tournaments across the nation
News
The Kosovo Volleyball Federation delivered a series of activities run in conjunction with the CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’ this past month, starting with meeting a large number of teachers from primary schools, where the parties eventually agreed to establish tournaments for primary school pupils in all regions of the Balkan country.

The first such tournament was held in the city of Gjakova – with participation of eight primary schools, each represented by a team of boys and a separate group of girls. The ‘Zekirja Rexha’ primary school emerged as the winners of the girls’ competition whereas the boys of the ‘Yll Morina’ school claimed top honours in their division. The tournament lasted for four days, and it was so effective that some 20 kids have joined local clubs to engage in the sport even further.
Following this success, the Kosovo Volleyball Federation will keep running such actions with secondary schools and primary schools from other regions, meeting teachers in May and looking for suitable dates.

A festival was organised in Xërxë with participation of about 65 kids from all local schools. The Kosovo Volleyball Federation is about to reach a deal whereby clubs will work with those schools once a week and try to involve more new teachers so that they become more familiar with Volleyball.
