As they continue to expand the reach and scope of the CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’, the Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation has witnessed the establishment of a new club known as Istanbul – Baku, where some 70 young girls already train and take further steps in growing their love for Volleyball.

Recently, the members of Istanbul - Baku played a friendly match with their peers from Iklin club, who are more experienced as they participated in the national championship last season. The president of the newly established club took this opportunity to share with the Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation their plans for further growth and development. The team is going to participate in the national championship for girls under the age of 16 this year. Moreover, they have signed a memorandum of cooperation with a Polish club, and devised plans to send their best player after the national championship to Poland for a training camp.

Parents of the Istanbul – Baku players attended the friendly match as well. After the match, a Safe Sport inspector from the Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation delivered a short lecture to the girls, explaining what the main principles of Safe Sport are and answering their questions. There was a good discussion involving coaches, parents, and players revolving around safeguarding policies in sport.
