Kranjska Gora, Slovenia, June 21, 2019. As many as 88 coaches from 28 countries across the whole of Europe have travelled to Slovenia to attend the historic Coaches Convention that is due to run from Friday to Sunday at Kranjska Gora, a popular mountain resort that is home to the training camps of the Slovenian Volleyball national teams as well. The focus of the convention will be on inspiring coaches working at the grassroots level – those who are in charge of growing the next generation of Volleyball players.

National Federations who have joined the CEV School Project could choose a number of their coaches to attend the lectures – but participation was open to all National Federations, thus accounting for an impressive number of 28 countries represented at Kranjska Gora.

It is the first such an action organised by the CEV in their history and yet another testament to the CEV’s commitment towards the education of all stakeholders involved in the development of the sport.

The attendees will be able to listen to lectures given by four experienced coaches, all with an impressive resume when it comes to their work with young players and youth teams. Remko Kenter (NED), Kristof De Loose (BEL), Peter Morell (DEN) and Marco Mencarelli (ITA) will all have their own success stories to share with the audience, while providing insights into their respective youth and development programmes and work with the ‘Volleyball stars in the making’.
