While a quiet month for delivery in schools, April has been an exciting time for competitive school volleyball in Scotland!

Even though all schools take two weeks off over the Easter holiday, Scottish Volleyball had four schools in attendance at this year’s national Cup Finals weekend, thereby showcasing the best of high school volleyball in the country. In the boys’ competition, Woodfarm high school took on Queensferry high school, with the school from the East taking the win 2-1. In the girls’ competition, Queensferry were also fighting for the win, but could not quite edge out Belmont Academy who took the win 2-0 for the second time in a row. It was a thrilling start to the cup finals weekend on the brand new Taraflex, and all involved had an excellent time.

Moreover, City of Edinburgh Volleyball club, based at Queensferry high school, kicked off their nine-week recruitment programme, designed to get kids between the ages of 11 to 14 involved in competitive Volleyball. And over on the West coast, South Ayrshire volleyball club are starting their summer season with a performance camp for U20 boys led by a member of the Scottish men’s national team.
