The Volleyball Federation of Montenegro (OSCG) has further expanded the ‘Free Volleyball School’ programme that they run in conjunction with the CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’ to additional schools across the country. Throughout the month of October alone, the OSCG officials visited three schools in Pljevlja, two in Bijelo Polje, another two in Berane and Zabljak – plus schools in Rozaje, Mojkovac, and Kolasin.

Further to the approval and support provided by the Ministry of Education of Montenegro, all these schools have started School Project activities. The first training sessions were run for schools from Pljevlja with the boys from the Volleyball club of Budva. Additionally, friendly matches were played between schools from Berane and the girls from the volleyball club Ivangrad 2011 from same city.

Five teachers from the Free Volleyball School project participated in the CEV Coaches Convention held this past September in Sofia, Bulgaria. The OSCG project coordinator received positive impressions from the convention, with the attendees praising the excellent work and organisation, as well as the many inspirational practical exercises introduced by the speakers – which they are already applying in their daily work.

Speaking of youth development, the seventh edition of the EKO Mini Volleyball league started this past October 22 in Podgorica with a record-breaking number of participants – 873 young boys and girls accounting for as many as 73 teams from 18 clubs across Montenegro (click here for further information).
