Eighth season of Mini Volleyball league breaks all participation records in Montenegro

This year, as many as 82 teams from 18 clubs are participating in the eighth edition of the Mini Volleyball league run by the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro (OSCG).
The eighth edition of this competition run in conjunction with the CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’ started on Sunday, November 3, at the sports hall of the Slobodan Škerović Gymnasium in Podgorica. This season coincides with unprecedented figures with 82 teams from 18 clubs involved, thereby accounting for as many as 827 children from all over Montenegro.
The Volleyball Federation of Montenegro organises the Mini Volleyball league specifically for children aged 9-13 with the support of the Ministry of Sports and Youth and the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV). The project aims to increase participation and popularise Volleyball in Montenegro. The OSCG covers all the costs of organising matches and has also donated balls to the clubs enrolled in the project.
The Director of Women’s National Teams at the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro (OSCG), Ksenija Božović, presented balls to the following clubs: Budućnost Volley, Lovćen, Gorštak, Ivangrad 2011, Mrkojevići, Herceg Novi, Mediteran, Ulcinj, and Tempo.
The Director of Men’s National Teams at the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro (OSCG), Ivan Ječmenica, handed out balls to representatives of the following clubs: Morača, Iskra, Akademija, Net, Top Volley, As, Barbana, Mornar, and Libero Cetinje.
OSCG President Nikola Kažić stated that the record number of participants adds an extra responsibility for the Federation to elevate the Mini Volleyball league to an even higher level. He emphasised that the ultimate goal is contributing to the long-term growth of the Balkan country’s senior national teams.
