The Icelandic Volleyball Association (BLI) organised a series of school visits in late February as the CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’ continues to gain traction in the Nordic country.

The roadshow started with Helgafellskóli in the town of Mosfellsbær, with participation of 22 – 40 and 38 kids born in 2008, 2009, and 2007, respectively. The BLI delegation will return to the same school again later this month to work with even younger pupils. Next on the programme was a visit to Háteigsskóli in the country’s capital, Reykjavik, with as many as 169 students involved in the volleyball lesson – with participants born between 2011 and 2013. Those born in 2012 accounted for the largest contingent – 67 – followed by those born in 2013 (63) and 2011 (39).

The coming months will see additional school visits as well as the delivery of the last three major CEV School Project events scheduled for the current school year.
