Volleyball festivals continue to take place across Armenia and more specifically across the Kotayk Province to inspire youngsters to play the game. The most recent such event organised by the Volleyball Federation of Armenia (VFA) in conjunction with the CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’ took place at the secondary school named after Hovhannes Tumanyan of the Bjni community.

The team representing the school became the Armenian national champions at the nationwide school competition organised in 2022 and now the physical education teacher of the boys’ volleyball team works in the school under the leadership of Mr Karlen Khachatryan.

Students from the sixth and seventh grades showed their ability to master the technical skills of the volleyball game and did also familiarise themselves with the rules of the game during the festival. Much-needed sports equipment was provided to the school by the VFA.

“This festival and the provision of sports equipment to our school will bring new energy and enthusiasm to our young athletes and to all children,” said the local physical education teacher in his speech.
