Tórshavn, Faroe Islands, October 25, 2018. The local school at Løgmannabreyt and Eiði School were the first two out of as many as 26 schools in the Faroe Islands to receive volleyballs and nets from Mikasa, as part of the CEV School Project. Over the next few months, the remaining schools involved in the project will receive the same equipment, so that Volleyball can play a far more relevant role in physical education classes in the Faroe Islands.

Project Manager Peter Morell handed over the equipment provided by the CEV to the two schools.

“The schools were very excited about the volleyballs and nets that they have received from the CEV. It is great to see how all the pupils enjoy playing with the balls and playing the game in general,” Morell said.

All students and PE teachers in the 2nd to 4th grade at all of the 26 schools will receive a 4-lesson education in Kidsvolley.  After that, they will participate in 10 local school tournaments. At the end of March, the winners of the local school tournaments will meet for the final stage in Tórshavn.

The Volleyball clubs in the Faroe Islands have been ready for the last month to take care of the many children who will start discovering the game with the help of Kidsvolley and the CEV School Project.
