CEV School Project rises Volleyball profile in northern Montenegro
News
CEV School Project coordinator Dragisa Calov organised in April a second coaches’ seminar, which was held in Bijelo Polje for primary school teachers and trainers with the purpose of improving the quality of volleyball training, while the ‘Free Volleyball School’ project run by the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro (OSCG) aims to provide access to free volleyball training in the area.
Moreover, Mr Calov organised a tournament in Pljevlja and that was an opportunity for young players to show their knowledge, skills, and their progress on a volleyball court. With six matches played in the category of younger and older ones, it is evident that the organisers managed to provide a good number of teams for the delivery of the tournament.
The upcoming tournaments in Berane and Kolasin will provide even more such opportunities for young players to compete and improve their skills. The major goal of this tournament cycle is to organise a final competition featuring the winners of all previous rounds. Overall, these are positive signs for the development of Volleyball in the northern part of Montenegro.
One of the members of the ‘Free Volleyball School’ project has already joined the U17 national team of Montenegro (click here for further info and the full story).
Apart from these positive developments, the eleventh and twelfth weekends of the sixth season of the EKO mini volleyball league have been played. This league is also part of the CEV School Project with participation of more than 800 children.
