The Volleyball Federation of North Macedonia has recently organised CEV School Project activities in the country’s capital, Skopje, and in the city of Vasilevo as well.

On October 20, 2023, a volleyball lesson was held for children aged 7-10 at the ‘Vojdan Chernodrinski’ elementary school in Skopje. More than 20 children took part in the session under the guidance of physical education teachers Sandra Georgievska and Atanas Filipovski. This elementary school has developed a close cooperation with the Fit Fan Volley volleyball club, which is a relatively new club when it comes to their involvement in the CEV School Project, but they have so far achieved their first goals with much success. During the class, exercises were performed to learn key elements of the game such as passing the ball with the fingers, reception, as well as exercises for the development of coordination, motor skills, and drills on how to hit a ball.

Only five days later, in the hall of the primary school Goce Delchev, in the municipality of Vasilevo, a volleyball lesson was run by physical education teacher Alma Hasanova. The fact that the group was composed only of boys aged 10-14, who have already partially mastered the basic elements of the volleyball game, is particularly interesting. This school has a close relationship with the Macedonia Gio volleyball club, which competes in the highest division of the Macedonian men’s national league.

Two new clubs have expressed their wish to join the CEV School Project, with the total of primary schools involved in the current school year already standing at 15.
