The delivery of the CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’ in Jakubovany was among the highlights recently reported by the Slovak Volleyball Federation (SVF).

The SVF has reached out to Mr Marek Kseňák, who helped with the delivery of the project locally. “When the Slovak Volleyball Federation asked me to implement the CEV School Project at the local elementary school in Jakubany, I really liked the idea, but I was coming from an unfamiliar environment and did not know that I would not have had to pay for its implementation. I was surprised by the huge interest in a project for beginners and quickly realised how beneficial it will be for the growth of the sport,” he says.

At ZŠ Jakubany, 10 experienced students were involved in the project delivery. “I want to mention the above-standard cooperation of the PE teachers and the director at this school and emphasise their passion for sports. This positive energy is also transmitted to the children who have been having fun while moving, jumping, and absorbing information during the lessons covering the ABC of Volleyball. At the end of each lesson, they asked when the next physical education class would be. We finalised the delivery of the CEV School Project at ZŠ Jakubany with a volleyball tournament, which did draw much interest. The children had a great time and played the game, and at the end they were all awarded some prizes. Every project can be improved and perfected, but the important thing is to seize every opportunity to work with children,” Mr Kseňák concludes.
