Armenian pupils enjoy Volleyball session in Ashtarak
News
The activities run by the Volleyball Federation of Armenia (VFA) in conjunction with the CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’ continue in full swing in the Caucasus country. Most recently, the VFA organised a Volleyball masterclass at the Nerses Ashtaraktsi primary school no. 1 in Ashtarak, Aragatsotn Province, with pupils from the fifth grade in attendance.
Zhanna Bondareva and Isabella Asmaryan were responsible for running the activities. Zhanna Bondareva is the senior coach of the Ashtarak Volleyball team, as well as a teacher of physical culture at the Ashtarak Vardges Petrosyan School.
Both Bondareva and Asmaryan were among Armenia’s representatives to attend last year’s CEV Coaches Convention held in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia.
With their help, the kids understood more of the Volleyball game and its rules, while trying to perform some basic exercises, which they did with much enthusiasm. Narine Asatryan was the eventual recipient of the medal awarded to the ‘best player’ from the session.
In conjunction with this action, the Volleyball Federation of Armenia has provided Volleyball equipment to the school – thus laying the foundation for Volleyball activities to continue in the weeks and months to come.
