Armenian Federation to support emerging teams in Ararat Province via CEV School Project
News
Earlier this week, representatives of the Volleyball Federation of Armenia (VFA), including Secretary General Karen Asmaryan, visited High School no. 3 of Vedi, Ararat Province, to spread even further the reach of the CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’.
A boys’ volleyball team has been established at the school with the help of local physical education teachers, and its members are currently preparing to participate in regional and national championships in the future.
The VFA crew delivered a training session, during which the participating students worked diligently to learn basic volleyball skills and got acquainted with the rules of the game as well.
VFA Secretary General Karen Asmaryan noted that there are many active volleyball teams in Ararat Province, but these do not participate in Armenian youth championships and other tournaments as they lack sufficient financial resources to support their endeavours.
Karen Asmaryan"Our Federation will try to support these teams with sports equipment and increase the number of workshops we deliver across Ararat Province, which will also help the teams have quality sports equipment to work with and improve the knowledge of their coaches. In the near future, this issue will also be raised with sports officials, and we will definitely help local teams participate in future Armenian championships."
