The members of the European Legal Commission (ELC) had on Friday their annual plenary meeting at the home of European Volleyball in Luxembourg City. ELC President Alain Fischbacher and his colleagues continue to work extensively to improve the CEV’s regulatory framework, with an enhanced focus on good governance.

After reviewing the outcome of the last FIVB Legal Commission, the ELC analysed and discussed the timeline, the checklist for candidatures, the documents as well as the checklist for the elections (order, majorities, ballots, etc.) in preparation for the XLV CEV General Assembly scheduled for this coming August 24 in Naples, Italy.

Moreover, the ELC used their meeting as an opportunity to continue the work they have been doing on the European sports model charter by sharing their legal perspective on the latest ECJ rulings. Finally, they further elaborated on a Good Governance Code and reviewed the proposed modifications and changes to the CEV Volleyball, Beach Volleyball and Snow Volleyball Competitions Regulations, which will be submitted to the CEV Board of Administration in early February for further analysis and eventual approval.
